The clever way to grip
The WSG 25 gripper supports a built-in grip detection. By continuously monitoring the finger position and the gripping force, the WSG 25 automatically detects its mechanical contact to the workpiece with a minimum delay. The established grip is monitored throughout the complete handling process to ensure a secure handling, even of parts that are difficult to handle using
conventional grippers. This unloads the high level process control from controlling the gripping process. External position switches are no longer required. The WSG 25 brings process simplicity with minimal effort on integration.
Trend-setting Ethernet based communication
The integrated Ethernet interface allows direct connection of the WSG 25 into existing networks. The WSG 25 provides a user-friendly web-based setup and diagnosis interface with a built-in help. Communication between the process control and the WSG 25 is realized by a powerful command protocol which is functionally optimized for handling tasks.
Extend your gripper’s functionality
For the WSG 25, an optional script interpreter is available that enables the implementation of application-specific tasks directly into the gripping module. To create and execute scripts, the web-based configuration interface provides an easy-to-use scripting editor with syntax highlighting and error reporting capabilities. The scripts can be stored in the internal memory of the WSG 25. An auxiliary RAM disk provides space to temporarily store additional process data. This makes the WSG 25 a versatile gripping module with an unprecedented degree of flexibility.

Turnkey solution for Universal Robots UR series
With the WSG 25-CR kit, Weiss Robotics provides a turnkey solution for Universal Robots’ UR-3 and UR-5 robots. The gripper module is controlled directly by the robot controller via the built-in Modbus/TCP interface. Sample projects and ready-to-use gripping functions are included on an auto-installaton USB stick to simplify integration into custom applications.
