Grip detection

The clever way to grip

The WSG 25 grip­per sup­ports a built-in grip detec­tion. By con­ti­nuous­ly moni­to­ring the fin­ger posi­ti­on and the grip­ping force, the WSG 25 auto­ma­ti­cal­ly detects its mecha­ni­cal con­tact to the work­pie­ce with a mini­mum delay. The esta­blis­hed grip is moni­to­red throughout the com­ple­te hand­ling pro­cess to ensu­re a secu­re hand­ling, even of parts that are dif­fi­cult to hand­le using
con­ven­tio­nal grip­pers. This unloads the high level pro­cess con­trol from con­trol­ling the grip­ping pro­cess. Exter­nal posi­ti­on swit­ches are no lon­ger requi­red. The WSG 25 brings pro­cess sim­pli­ci­ty with mini­mal effort on inte­gra­ti­on.

The inte­gra­ted Ether­net inter­face allows direct con­nec­tion of the WSG 25 into exis­ting net­works. The WSG 25 pro­vi­des a user-fri­end­ly web-based set­up and dia­gno­sis inter­face with a built-in help. Com­mu­ni­ca­ti­on bet­ween the pro­cess con­trol and the WSG 25 is rea­li­zed by a power­ful com­mand pro­to­col which is func­tio­nal­ly opti­mi­zed for hand­ling tasks.

Scripting support

Extend your gripper’s functionality

For the WSG 25, an optio­nal script inter­pre­ter is avail­able that enables the imple­men­ta­ti­on of app­li­ca­ti­on-spe­ci­fic tasks direct­ly into the grip­ping modu­le. To crea­te and exe­cu­te scripts, the web-based con­fi­gu­ra­ti­on inter­face pro­vi­des an easy-to-use scrip­t­ing edi­tor with syn­tax high­light­ing and error reporting capa­bi­li­ties. The scripts can be stored in the inter­nal memo­ry of the WSG 25. An auxi­l­i­a­ry RAM disk pro­vi­des space to tem­pora­ri­ly store addi­tio­nal pro­cess data. This makes the WSG 25 a ver­sa­ti­le grip­ping modu­le with an unpre­ce­den­ted degree of fle­xi­bi­li­ty.
