For the collaborative use, Weiss Robotics offers with the CRG series a compact servo-electric gripping module with integrated control and IO-Link. The CRG grippers has an integrated gripping force unit with an absolute measuring system, which prevents the workpiece from falling out when the power supply is interrupted.

The CRG series has been spe­ci­al­ly deve­lo­ped for the col­la­bo­ra­ti­on of humans and robots. Roun­ded edges and safe grip­ping force make the CRG  a fle­xi­ble tool for col­la­bo­ra­ti­ve robots, which alrea­dy meets the DGUV recom­men­da­ti­ons for col­la­bo­ra­ti­ve robo­tic sys­tems as well as the requi­re­ments of the ISO / TS 15066 stan­dard. This great­ly sim­pli­fies the risk assess­ment of your col­la­bo­ra­ti­ve robot app­li­ca­ti­on and let you reach your goals fas­ter.

Sensitive gripping

With the sen­sor­less force con­trol, the CRG also hand­les britt­le, fra­gi­le or com­pli­ant parts effort­less­ly and ensu­res a con­sistent­ly repro­du­ci­ble grip result. Using sta­te-of-the-art model-based algo­rithms, the cur­rent grip­ping force from the dri­ve sta­te is deter­mi­ned and con­trol­led to the pre­de­ter­mi­ned value. This tech­ni­que gua­ran­tees a repro­du­ci­ble grip­ping result even under chan­ging ambi­ent con­di­ti­ons. Both the grip­ping ran­ge and the grip­ping force can be fle­xi­b­ly defi­ned for each grip and thus opti­mal­ly matched to the grip­ping part. In addi­ti­on, the CRG sup­ports pre­de­fi­ned grip con­fi­gu­ra­ti­ons, which can be easi­ly selec­ted by the sys­tem con­trol­ler.

Good connections

Para­me­te­ri­za­ti­on and con­trol of the CRG grip­pers are car­ri­ed out using the wide­ly used indus­tri­al stan­dard IO-Link. This crea­tes fle­xi­bi­li­ty, becau­se IO-Link not only sim­pli­fies the con­nec­tion to the pro­cess con­trol, but also faci­li­ta­tes the para­me­te­ri­za­ti­on and dia­gno­sis in the plant via a stan­dar­di­zed pro­to­col. This way, you always have your pro­cess under con­trol.

Gripping part detection integrated

Forget external proximity switches!

The CRG has a built-in grip­ping con­trol with grip­ping part detec­tion and grip moni­to­ring. This ensu­res safe hand­ling even in dif­fi­cult situa­ti­ons. Thanks to its pre­ci­se ser­vo-elec­tric dri­ve, the jaws can be fle­xi­b­ly pre-posi­tio­ned and thus dif­fe­rent work­pie­ces can be grip­ped wit­hout retoo­ling. The other­wi­se necessa­ry exter­nal sen­sors are not requi­red, which mini­mi­zes the inter­fe­ring con­tour of the grip­per and con­si­der­a­b­ly increa­ses the pro­cess relia­bi­li­ty.

Absolute precision

With the new abso­lu­te mea­su­ring sys­tem, the CRG knows its fin­ger posi­ti­on during start­up even wit­hout a refe­rence move­ment. This allows you to sim­ply con­ti­nue the grip­ping pro­cess, even if the ope­ra­ting vol­ta­ge has been inter­rup­ted by an emer­gen­cy stop or a restart of the sys­tem pro­gram.

The inno­va­ti­ve grip­ping force reten­ti­on PERMAGRIP deve­lo­ped by Weiss Robo­tics pre­ser­ves the grip­ping force on the work­pie­ce, even if the power sup­ply to the grip­per is inter­rup­ted unex­pec­ted­ly. Thanks to the inte­gra­ted abso­lu­te sen­sors the pro­duc­tion can con­ti­nue even wit­hout refe­ren­cing when the power sup­ply is res­to­red.

With the CRG, you rely on the hig­hest qua­li­ty and sta­te-of-the-art tech­no­lo­gy. The main­ten­an­ce-free and fric­tion-free rol­ler bea­ring gui­des with FDA-com­pli­ant lub­ri­ca­ti­on make the grip­pers very robust and enab­le pre­ci­se and sen­si­ti­ve grip­ping over the ent­i­re stro­ke. Due to the uni­que dou­ble bea­ring of the base jaws, the grip­ping force is almost inde­pen­dent of the fin­ger length. The main­ten­an­ce-free brush­less DC motor pro­vi­des a high agi­li­ty and gua­ran­tees a long life­time.
