The clever way to grip

The grip­ping modu­les of the IEG series have an inte­gra­ted grip­ping con­trol using a hybrid force con­trol­ler to gua­ran­tee a high per­for­man­ce grip­ping pro­cess even in dif­fi­cult app­li­ca­ti­ons. Exter­nal posi­ti­on sen­sors and manu­al adjus­ta­ble limit swit­ches are no lon­ger requi­red as the IEG offers an inte­gra­ted high reso­lu­ti­on posi­ti­on sen­sor. It pro­vi­des vir­tual limit swit­ches that can be para­me­te­ri­zed easi­ly over IO-Link. As no exter­nal sen­sors are nee­ded any­mo­re, the inter­fe­ring con­tours are mini­mi­zed and the grip­ping pro­cess beco­mes much more relia­ble.

Model based Force Control

High performance force control

The inte­gra­ted force con­trol even allows a relia­ble grip­ping of britt­le, fra­gi­le and fle­xi­ble parts. A modern model based approach is used to deter­mi­ne the actual grip­ping force from the device para­me­ters. The IEG grip­per uses this data for a clo­sed loop force con­trol to ensu­re high­ly dyna­mic and smoo­th move­ments even with low grip­ping forces. Up to 4 dif­fe­rent grips can be con­fi­gu­red insi­de the grip­per to opti­mal­ly fit the work­pie­ces.

Thanks to its inte­gra­ted IO-Link inter­face, the IEG series con­nects seam­less­ly to fiel­d­bus envi­ron­ments and PLCs of various ven­dors. This sim­pli­fies con­trol, con­fi­gu­ra­ti­on and dia­gno­sis of the grip­per and gives you maxi­mum con­trol over your manu­fac­tu­ring pro­cess.

At any time the IEG pro­vi­des you cha­rac­te­ris­tic para­me­ters of the grip­ping pro­cess over IO-Link. This enables you to que­ry e.g. the actual part width as well as the remai­ning grip­ping cycles to the next inspec­tion to sche­du­le the main­ten­an­ce inter­vals well in advan­ce. The robust and smoo­th run­ning line­ar gui­des allow a pre­cise and sen­si­ti­ve grip­ping over the com­ple­te stroke. As ano­ther advan­ta­ge the grip­ping force is near­ly inde­pen­dent of the fin­ger leng­th. The main­ten­an­ce-free brush­less DC motor pro­vi­des a high agi­li­ty and gua­ran­tees a long life­time.
